This elegant red blend brings together three distinctive grape varieties from Turkey’s diverse Aegean region, each contributing its own story and character to the wine.
The Karasakız grape hails from the northern slopes of Mount Ida (Kaz Dağları) in Çanakkale, near the ancient city of Troy. Planted in the 2000s at altitudes of 450–500 meters, the vineyards in the village of Gedik are farmed using conventional methods, producing grapes with bright fruit and gentle tannins.
Cabernet Sauvignon is sourced from the Paşaeli vineyard in Kaynaklar, near İzmir along the Aegean coast. This site, planted in 2002 at 235 meters above sea level, is cultivated with a strong commitment to sustainable viticulture, ensuring environmental care and fruit integrity.
The native Çalkarası variety is grown in the Çal district of Denizli, at elevations ranging from 850 to 1000 meters. These 25-year-old, head-trained bush vines thrive in high-altitude conditions, resulting in grapes that retain freshness and aromatic precision.
Each variety was harvested at optimal ripeness between mid-September and early October 2023. Grapes were carefully handpicked, destemmed, and gently crushed. Fermentation occurred separately for each grape, with regular pump-overs to enhance colour and structure. The wine was then aged in second- and third-use French oak barrels for three months, followed by at least three months of bottle aging to refine and integrate its flavours.
In the glass, the wine presents a light ruby-red hue. Aromas of sweet red cherry, sour cherry, and cranberry lead the nose, while the palate is alive with bright, fresh fruit. Subtle notes of sweet spice, soft tannins, and a velvety texture deliver a smooth, well-rounded finish. Best enjoyed slightly chilled, this wine offers a refreshing yet refined expression of Turkey’s vibrant terroir.
